Sriram Srivatsan is a very promising young Mridangam artist of today. He is a disciple of Fullbright Fellow and Copeland Fellow Vidwan Sri. Umayalpuram Mali.
Sriram started learning the art of playing Mridangam from a tender age of six. Sriram used to travel to India every year, two months in Summer and one month during the December Music season, to learn from his Gurus and to immerse himself with Music. His immense passion for music made him travel to India alone as an unaccompanied minor starting from an age of 8. Sriram had his first full public concert accompanying great musicians at an age of 11.
Since his debut concert in 2011, Sriram has accompanied several well known artists in India and the US. He has toured US, Canada and India with Bharat Ratna Smt. MS Subbulakshmi's great grand daughter Vidushi. Aishwarya Srinivasan. He has accompanied several AIR graded artists both vocalists and instrumentalists during December seasons in Chennai.
Sriram has performed at several prestigious sabhas such as the Walt Disney Concert Hall, Los Angeles, Narada Gana Sabha, Chennayil Thiruvaiyaru (Zee TV), Nadha Sudha, Los Angeles Telugu Association, Sacramento Aradhana, TFA Vancouver, Canada. Sriram is a two time gold award winner at the International Music Festival at the famous Walt Disney Theater, Los Angeles. Sriram will be performing at the world famous Carnegie Hall, New York in 2022 as part of an ensemble by the Spring Nectar Academy.
